A flagship project under the Team Europe Initiative on Deforestation Free Value Chains, run by GIZ. Promotes deforestation-free agricultural value chains in response to the EU Regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR).
Together with FAO, the International Trade Centre (ITC), the Technical Facility by the European Forest Institute (EFI), and DIASCA (Digital Integration of Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative), SAFE promotes an ecosystem of publicly accessible, modular, interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for deforestation-free agricultural value chains: registries, open standards, and geospatial tools reusable across contexts. See the project’s own overview: https://zerodeforestationhub.eu/projects/safe/global-activities/digital-public-infrastructure/
